Alternatively, there is a more secure option with Protonmail, an encrypted email service run by a Swiss company founded by people who researched CERN. The company has said that its system “does not allow us (or anyone else) to read user emails.” But some metadata is temporarily retained. Here’s their privacy policy. The encryption only works between two Protonmail accounts, but creating one is both free and easy.
